Tools required :

  • 2l Stainless Steel pressure cooker
  • Induction stove
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Pre-made items like Tadka, Tamarind paste.
  • Hand blender / mixer grinder
  • Flash seperator
  • Peeler & grater
  • Small weighing scale

Techniques used:
Retained heat cooking
Pot in pot cooking etc

Advantages :

  • Less oil
  • Less water
  • Quick
  • Green
  • Same taste every time
  • No standing for hours

Disadvantages :

  • We should follow the instructions carefully. Otherwise, the food might get burnt or undercooked.
  • We should not scale up or scale down recipes without understanding the basics.

Example :



1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup deseeded fiber removed tamarind pulp
1/4 cup raw peanuts
1/4 cup jaggery
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp asafoetida

Inner vessel : 1/2 cup spiced powder
1 cup water
6whistles on high. Release pressure. Mix.

Mix all the ingredients in the mentioned order, and add other ingredients in the Inner vessel.
